How a Cruise Changed My Life

If someone had told me years ago that a holiday, a simple cruise, would become the turning point in my life, I wouldn’t have believed them.

I wasn’t looking for change. In fact, I was doing what I’d always done: putting one foot in front of the other, surviving in silence. From the outside, I seemed to have it together. But on the inside, I was unravelling.

When I stepped onto that ship, I carried years of pain I hadn’t dared speak aloud. I didn’t know that meeting one person, a kind stranger, could start to lift the fog. I didn’t know that a few days at sea could offer something I hadn’t felt in years: clarity. Freedom. Hope.

That cruise didn’t just give me a break; it gave me perspective. And for the first time in a long time, I saw a different future for myself. Scary, uncertain, but mine.

I wrote We Met on a Cruise because I know I’m not the only one who’s ever felt trapped in a life that doesn’t feel like their own. I wrote it for the woman who’s smiling through it, holding it together, not sure if she’s allowed to want more. I want her to know: she’s not alone.

This blog will be where I share parts of that story, and everything I’ve learned since. About healing. About courage. About starting again when you think it’s too late.

Thanks for being here. I hope something you find in these pages reminds you of your own strength.

With love,

Simone x
